Pizza Twists

These are a fun little snack that Andrew and I enjoy making together. They are particularly easy and most of all they take just about no time to make. I've been making them so much over the past week that I've discovered a natty little way to thawing out puff pastry without it going dry around the edges during the process. What's been working for me is placing the sheets of pastry to thaw underneath a slightly damp tea towel. The sheets will be good to go in about 10 minutes and wont have any dry patches. Find the recipe for these below.

Pizza Twists

Ingredients:
2 sheets of puff pastry (thawed)
Tomato paste
Dried basil
Dried oregano
Parmesan cheese
1 egg, beaten

Method:
Preheat a moderate oven. Spread out the tomato paste over the puff pastry sheets. Sprinkle with the dried herbs and cheese. Fold in half and cut into 1 inch strips. Twist each strip once before placing on a baking tray. Lightly brush each twist with the beaten egg. Place prepared pizza twists into the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes, until the pastry has puffed up and they are a nice golden brown. Store any left overs in an air tight container in the fridge, heat them up for a few seconds when reserving.
